Many times I can feel unmotivated and uninspired.

Three tips to boost Confidence

1. Stay consistent

2. Set SMART goals

3. Celebrate your wins

Consistency is the most important piece when moving to achieve your goals, in or out of the gym. Without consistency, programs are messy, the body has a difficult time adjusting and establishing a routine to build a strong body more strenuous.

SMART GOALS: these goals are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-bound

Specific goals have a numerical value by which you can determine your success or failure.

an example of this will be “I will perform resistance training 4 times per week for the next 10 weeks.”

Measurable allows you to gauge whether you’re meeting them.

For example, “losing 15 pounds in 18 weeks” is a measurable goal that you can see.

“I want to lose weight” is too unclear.

Attainable, you must be able to set goals that are attainable.

There’s nothing wrong with long-term fitness goals, most fitness programs should focus on what you can achieve within several weeks to months, as opposed to a monumental target that will take a decade to achieve. An attainable goal will always be relative to your current fitness level. The great thing is once you achieve that attainable goal you set new smart goals and you celebrate the wins.

When you see yourself meeting your goals it encourages you to keep going.

Relevant goals are those that pertain to you and are tailored toward your life, health, and fitness needs. They should include things that you are interested in and good for your personal health needs.

Time this means that there is a specific time frame that you are wanting to acheive your goals. Most SMART goals should take 1-3 months to achieve. Using the weight loss example, a goal to lose “10 pounds in 3 months” gives you a motivating window within which attaining your goal is reasonable. Yet, it keeps you accountable for both starting and finishing your goal in the time frame you set for yourself.

CELEBRATE THOSE WINS!!

Remember hard is hard! If you are wanting to reach your SMART goals be consistent and you can achieve those goals in a three month time frame.
